What inspires confidence in a health care practice? Certainly
the word of accrediting and certifying agencies plays a role.
For that reason, we’re proud of the many accreditations
we’ve received—with many “firsts” among
them. To name a few:
- In 2008, The Sleep Center at Crystal Run, located at our Rock Hill facility, was granted accreditation by The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) –– the national accrediting body for sleep disorders centers and laboratories for sleep related breathing disorders –– making it the first such accredited sleep center in Orange and Sullivan Counties.
- In 2006, Crystal Run Healthcare became the only “private practice” in New York to earn the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) - the predominant standards-setting and accrediting body in health care.
- Also in 2006, Crystal run received recognition through the National Committee for Quality Assurance, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. The NCQA recognition was granted through the Physician Practice Connections (PPC) program, the only national program to recognize physicians who organize their practices around quality care using electronic systems to assist them.
- Our radiology department was the first in the nation to receive accreditation for digital mammography—and one of the first 10 in New York State to be accredited for CT scans. It also received second place in an “Imaging Facility of the Year” ranking from ADVANCE for Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals.
- Our nuclear cardiology lab in Middletown was among the first in North America to be accredited by ICANL (the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories). The accreditation recognizes the lab’s commitment to high-quality patient care and quality diagnostic testing.
- Our practice includes the first accredited echocardiology laboratory in New York State—an accreditation that, in Massachusetts, first went to Harvard Medical School's major teaching hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital.
- Crystal Run laboratories have received accreditation from COLA, a non-profit, physician-directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care.
