Crystal Run Healthcare Providers Participate in Pine Bush High School Summer Medical Academy

Middletown, N.Y. – July 20, 2017 – On Thursday, July 6th, over sixty students from the Pine Bush High School Summer Medical Academy had the opportunity to interact with providers and staff in various specialties and departments within Crystal Run Healthcare. The Pine Bush High School Summer Medical Academy offers creative courses that promote education and enrichment for high school students in an academic setting leveraging local professionals, such as Crystal Run Healthcare providers and staff, to educate students via real life experience.  Students who applied for enrollment were selected based on their interest in healthcare, academic performance, and recommendation by their principal or science department head.

 

Crystal Run providers and staff that presented to the class of over 60 students included: Andrea Cronin, CCDS, MSN, FNP-BC, specializing in Cardiology and Electrophysiology; Courtney Welyczko, MBA, RN, OCN, Director of Medical Specialties, Taisha Davis, BSN, RN, Nursing Supervisor, and DeNiece Bennett, DNP, MSN-Ed, RN, Director of Nursing for Rockland/NYC; Raymond Farquharson, Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Scott Goldman, Associate Director of Radiology; Gregory Spencer, MD, FACP, Primary Care physician, Chief Medical Officer & Chief Medical Information Officer; and Felix Davelman, MD, Urologist.

 

Crystal Run Healthcare has had a long-standing commitment to supporting youth education as well as giving back to the local community. In addition to participating in the Pine Bush High School Summer Medical Academy, providers and staff also partake in the Excelsior Medical Academy for Pine Bush High School, continuing their support of youth education for the sixth year in a row. Each year, Crystal Run Healthcare is excited and proud to participate in both the Medical Academy and Excelsior program and contribute to the students’ ongoing education and interest of a career in the medial field.
