Crystal Run Healthcare oncologists & employees raise more than $5,000 for Real Men Wear Pink and Making Strides campaigns

Crystal Run Healthcare’s lifetime donations to the American Cancer Society have recently exceeded $300,000 after tallying up practice-wide fundraising efforts held throughout the month of October.  For thirteen consecutive years, employees and providers have joined forces to support the Hudson Valley Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. This year, the Practice served as the Finish Line Sponsor and Breast Surgeon, Dr. Veronica Ferenz helped to kick off the opening ceremony. Crystal Run Healthcare also had two Real Men Wear Pink (RMWP) participants, Oncologists, Dr. Ronen Harel and Dr. Ravi Shah. In total, $5,080.65 was raised to benefit the Real Men Wear Pink and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiatives.

Throughout the month of October, various fundraisers were held including bake sales, basket raffles, a paint and snack night, and a practice-wide “Wear Pink” dress down day to help raise funds for vital cancer research.  Employees across the entire Practice came together to show their support by personally donating funds, wearing pink and organizing various fundraisers.

“1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, which is why I support the American Cancer Society in their mission to raise money for breast cancer research. I’m honored to be a part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, an event that truly rallies the community to remember those we’ve lost to breast cancer, support the men and women going through breast cancer treatment, and cheer on the survivors,” said Veronica Ferencz, DO, Breast Surgeon at Crystal Run Healthcare. “Together, we can help fund breakthroughs in breast cancer treatment and save more men and women than ever before.”
