What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I had an injury to my hand in high school and had an interest after that but didn't decide to pursue the field of medicine until several years into college.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
Helping get people's hand to work is the key to restoring their independence. It's very rewarding for patients to resume their prior activities because of therapy.
How do you connect with your patients?
I love to hear about people's families and life experiences. I've learned something from all of my patients.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I enjoy time outdoors with my family and spending time on my husband's farm.
What is your advice for your patients?
I advise them that following through at home with exercises/instructions is the best way to get a good outcome.
