What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I have loved children and teaching for as long as I can remember. It wasn't until college that I realized I would combine my love for teaching, caring for others, and science by becoming a physician.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I love pediatrics for so many reasons. I love being able to care for children and their families and having the privilege to watch my patients grow up. I believe I am truly able to make a positive and meaningful difference in the health of children that they can carry with them as they grow into adults.
How do you connect with your patients?
I try to bring humor, compassion, practicality, and a patient and family-centered approach to all of my interactions with patients.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I love being outdoor activities including hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping with my husband, daughter, and puppy. I also enjoy traveling, I have visited over 30 countries on 6 continents, reading, and baking.
What is your advice for your patients?
Read every single day, eat fruits and vegetables, don't drink soda, and excericise daily.
