What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I had a great mentor when I was 13 years old and I was introduced to the career as a Physician's Assistant. I like being a PA because I am trained to work in different specialties. I have worked as a Plastic Surgery Physician's Assistant for 11 years. I also enjoy working in Emergency medicine per diem.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I love working in the operating room as a Plastic Surgery Physician Assistant. It is very rewarding to see a patient that had a deformity due to a disease get a make over and wake up feeling like a changed person. I enjoy being in an operating room as a first assistant.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I like playing chess and bicycling.
What is your advice for your patients?
I advise them to do everything in moderation; do not overeat, exercise by walking 30 minutes a day, enjoy being outdoors and try to get rid of bad habits.
