What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
Seeing child amputees in Sri Lanka at age 5 was very scarring and I knew right there that I wanted to do something to alleviate physical suffering.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I love seeing generations of patients. It is also gratifying when patients request me by name or suggest friends/family establish care with me. The variety and the responsibility of keeping a community healthy are what attracted me to Family Medicine.
How do you connect with your patients?
I use humor. I have been fortunate in that I can relate to people from all walks of life. Patients feel at ease and are never intimidated by my funny, gentle demeanor.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
My dog, Brownie, going to the movies with my wife, and playing the bass and drums.
What is your advice for your patients?
That they can come to me with any questions or concerns at any time.
