What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
I was a Surgical Technologist in the Army. During a deployment to Saudi Arabia for the first Gulf War, a military helictoper crashed in front of our field hospital that killed a special force medic on his last training mission.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I love interacting with patients and being able to treat common ailments. I would like to do medical missions after retierment.
How do you connect with your patients?
I listen and am extremely empathetic.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
Adventure racing, bike packing, cross country skiing.
What is your advice for your patients?
Stop smoking and create bucket lists.
