About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

Both of my parents are healthcare providers; my dad is an Oral Surgeon and my mom is a nurse.  When I was young my dad would take me and my brothers rounding with him at the hospital but somehow I was the only one who thought this was really cool.  As I grew up I studied Biology in college and graduate school and still carry my enthusiasm for the culture of medicine today.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I love Family Medicine because I work, at least to some extent, in every field of medicine.  This allows me to be as useful to my patients as possible and to be better able to navigate the healthcare system.  Furthermore, I always strive to develop trusting personal connections with my patients.

How do you connect with your patients?

I believe my job is to help my patients have a healthy and enjoyable life and I always work side by side with everyone I see to accomplish this.  I do my best to educate my patients on their care, and above all else I make sure they are comfortable with their care plans.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

Most of my hobbies involve the outdoors. I love hiking, camping, skiing and kayaking.  I’m also an avid hockey fan and dog owner.  I also enjoy photography, cooking and baking.

What is your advice for your patients?

I always encourage my patients to do their best to stay active daily, whether that means getting outside (like I do), having an exercise schedule or even working around the house.
