About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

My Dad was a surgeon and I used to carry his medical bag around while he made rounds.  That was the beginning of my training.  I wanted to be like him.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

Transplant may be unique among medical specialties because we are able to cure patients with very advanced diseases of many types and restore them to normal life. That makes all of us who practice transplant medicine feel wonderful.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

After my family, music, history of late antiquity, fiction.

What is your advice for your patients?

Don't drink alcohol
