About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

As a medical mission volunteer during school, I was inspired by physicians and nurses providing relief to the sick. Medicine as a career seemed like a natural choice. I haven’t looked back since!

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

As a physician, there is no greater satisfaction than to help a patient successfully tackle a challenging clinical situation. My sub-specialty allows involvement in several such scenarios. Academic interest in the field of gastroenterology coupled with an aptitude for complex endoscopic procedures led to interventional gastroenterology becoming a natural sub-specialty choice.

How do you connect with your patients?

I am a believer in the importance of bedside manners and empathy. These are traits I would hope to see in any physician taking care of me in times of illness. I believe these characteristics are critical to connecting with patients.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

I enjoy swimming, the outdoors, and exploring all that New York has to offer with my wife and children.

What is your advice for your patients?

I look forward to partnering with you in maintaining your best health possible. Please take the time to learn more about recommended screening tests as well as about any known medical conditions you might have.
