What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
My earliest memory of wanting to become a doctor was in my early teens watching science documentaries on medical topics and during my human anatomy elective class in high school.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I love otolaryngology head and neck surgery (ENT) because of the ability to treat medically or surgically areas in the human body which are very different and complex. Another plus is that I am able to treat all ages from newborn to geriatric.
How do you connect with your patients?
I try to keep a cordial approach when I interact with my patients and try to explain the how and why of their medical issues in simple terms so they can have a more active role in their healing.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I spent my free time with my husband and children, visiting family outside the US, family trips. I also enjoy zumba, reading and movies.
What is your advice for your patients?
Don't smoke or if they do, to stop smoking.
