Annual Event a Hit with Children and Parents Alike at Various Crystal Run Locations

Middletown, N.Y. – March 6th, 2017 – On Thursday, March 2nd, Crystal Run Healthcare, led by its Pediatricians, celebrated ‘Read Across America Day’ and the birthday of Dr. Seuss with live readings to children and parents in waiting rooms across the practice’s pediatric offices. Pediatricians, members of the Executive Team, and staff read Dr. Seuss favorites including, Oh, The Places You’ll Go!, Green Eggs and Ham and more. This is the first year that Crystal Run Healthcare participated in the event, organized by Jocelyn A. Dummett, MD, FAAP, Pediatrics Division Lead.

‘Read Across America’, sponsored by the National Education Association, is the nation’s largest reading celebration, with upwards of 45 million students, parents, educators and others participating every year. The annual event emphasizes the need to impart in young readers a lifelong love of learning through reading, as reading is not only an essential academic skill, but the foundation of all learning.

“Reading has always been an inspirational part of my life and something that ultimately led me to new adventures and inspired “travel” to new worlds. It not only brings me deeper emotions, but wonder, and greater, broader thinking - a gift I’ve given to my kids,” said, Dr. Lin-Lin Y. Remenar, Crystal Run Healthcare Pediatrician, on the importance of reading.
