Innovative medical facility fosters new levels of convenience, efficiency, and quality care
Newburgh, N.Y. – July 22, 2015 – Crystal Run Healthcare is proud to announce the opening of its newest office in New York – the region’s most innovative medical facility, adapted from the Everett Clinic at Smokey Point, Marysville, WA. Using LEAN design principles to promote patient safety, functionality, efficiency, and service excellence, the facility is at the cutting-edge of medicine and technology and introduces a new, patient-focused health care delivery dynamic.
The impetus for this comprehensive design innovation is Crystal Run’s commitment to coordinated, quality, patient-focused care. “It was important to us to give the Newburgh community a truly exceptional facility, with a broad range of specialties and services,” explained Crystal Run’s Managing Partner and CEO, Hal Teitelbaum MD, JD, MBA. “But this facility was also designed to transform the patient experience, and serve as the model for all new Crystal Run facilities going forward.”
The 66,000 square foot multi-specialty medical office, opened on July 20th, grants the community access to a broad range of health care services under one roof. It houses more than 20 medical and surgical specialties, from primary care and urgent care to cardiology and neurology. Additionally, the facility includes an endoscopy suite, infusion center, and provides full diagnostic testing, including state-of-the-art imaging. But providing a one-stop healthcare destination is only the beginning.
Crystal Run’s newest facility was planned to promote patient safety and convenience, while enhancing efficiency, quality, and service excellence in health care. Kiosks, rapid check-in, and improved utilization of exam room space reduce wait time for patients, while they are discharged directly from the exam room with no additional check-out procedure. Real-time documentation prevents errors, and makes it easier for patients to become educated about their conditions and treatments.
The facility features an inviting atrium where patients can enjoy an open and well-lit space, with easy access to all the providers and services. A comfortable and efficient working space for medical and administrative staff revolves around a large open space that allows the provider team to communicate and collaborate seamlessly.
This design strategy is complemented by procedural changes – such as a team-based staffing model, and standardized provider schedules to improve patient access. The resulting efficiency removes barriers and increases engagement between patients and providers. Ultimately, that supports the best patient care, as well as an optimal healthcare experience.
