About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
My father was a doctor (a TB Specialist), and I grew up watching and admiring him and his trade.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
Neurology is probably the last area of medicine where physical examination actually counts. It is very rewarding to treat people rather than numbers or MRI images.
How do you connect with your patients?
Both parties have to understand each other. If I do not understand part of a patient's story - I ask. When I explain something, I encourage patients to interrupt and ask questions.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
Soccer (played, coached, still follow). Love Outer Banks, NC. Favorite music band - Scorpions.
What is your advice for your patients?
If you smoke - try to quit (we will help). If you don't - help someone who does want to quit (we will help).
