Employee Spotlight - Catherine Gaetano, RN

What has been the most important accomplishment in your career so far and why was it so significant?

I feel that one of the most important accomplishments in my career so far is being able to juggle the demands of parenthood and my nursing career which I feel are two of the most rewarding yet demanding roles I have the honor of having.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I would have to say my favorite part of my job is being with the patients and feeling like I am a part of their journey to wellness and helping to educate and encourage them along the way.

What are some of the most valuable lessons you learned while working here? 
The most valuable lessons I have learned while working here is being able to ask for help and the importance of  teamwork.  Being able to ask for assistance and encouraging and helping co-workers is very important to our success.
 
What are some of your hobbies/ favorite things to do outside of work?
Some of my favorite things to do outside of work are spending time with my wonderful daughters, family and friends. Reading a good book and spending time outdoors are also favorites of mine.

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? 
Some of the best advice I have ever received is to always try to take care of yourself first, as you can’t take care of others if you are not well yourself. In addition, in this ever changing profession always stick to the main goal……..the client! While always being their advocate.
