Employee Spotlight | David S Kang, MD
When did you start working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
I started working at CRHC in June of 2006.
What made you choose a career in this field?
My earliest memory of wanting to be a doctor was when I was 5 or 6 when I 'escaped' my kindergarten to take my injured classmate to a doctor's office. Needless to say, this created a huge problem in my school.
What is your biggest accomplishment within your career thus far?
I was a director of residencies and faculty at medical schools. I worked in inner city practice and, rural practice. I cared for the homeless population, refugees, asylum seekers, and indigent populations. I started practice from scratch in several different locations. However, what I considered as the biggest accomplishment is that I am able to care for my patients and to build a relationship with them.
What is your favorite part about working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
During my interview we talked about the Core Values of the practice. I knew at that moment we shared the value of putting the patient first and we still do today.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially watching NY Islanders hockey games.
