Employee Spotlight, Marc Rappaport, DO
When did you start working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
I started in April 2015.
What made you choose a career in this field?
The doctor-patient relationship is very unique for Oncologists versus other health care providers, first and most important patients want to see us. Creating a bond of trust is key in a very tough situation. I pride myself in treating patients like my family.
What is your biggest accomplishment within your career thus far?
I have been practicing for 10 years and not to sound too cliché, but in Oncology when there is good news, its great news, and I think since I graduated my fellowship, the advances have been astonishing with the new class of immunotherapy drugs and the push away from standard chemotherapy and moving more towards personalized medicine/genomic medicine.
What is your favorite part about working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
This practice offers me the opportunity to practice as a physician and not a robot like working in a hospital. There is respect among all the providers in this group, and we all are working towards the same goal of providing the best patient care with the utmost respect for our patients.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spending time with my beautiful wife and 4 children keep me very busy, but when I have a spare moment, I play tennis and hockey and attend as many professional hockey and basketball games as possible.
