Employee Spotlight - Susan Cooke, Site Supervisor
When did you start working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
I started working in Healthcare 30 years ago with Dr. Robert McManus, MD, PC, We merged with others over time. Then in January 2009 we merged with Crystal Run Healthcare!
What made you choose a career in this field?
I originally did not chose Healthcare, It chose me. I started in an OB/GYN office that had just gotten computers, they needed someone to set them up and train the existing staff. When I completed the project, I realized I had found my niche. I started helping patients with their insurance, training staff. etc. I found I had the tools to make a difference. I found that I am a people person.
What is your biggest accomplishment within your career thus far?
I think a few of my accomplishments worth mentioning are successfully integrating with CRHC, taking on a new position of Site Supervisor and being able to successfully close out our prior affiliation. I have successfully seen our group leave our original location, plan and oversee construction of our existing site, and then add on an addition to include many specialties (Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Urology, Cardiology, GI, ID and Endocrinology). Lastly but not by any means the least, has been hiring and training many talented staff members using tools and training I have received here at CRHC.
What is your favorite part about working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
Helping to make sure our patients have a great experience each time they come to the Warwick Location, using the training tools I have gained here (CLEAR and HEART).
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spending time with my family , My husband, 4 sons and 8 Grandchildren. I love watching them all grow up and being a part of their lives (sports, family gatherings and teaching them to be caring and kind). I enjoy getting together with friends and working on our quilting and craft projects, including some for charity. Taking vacations with my husband to our favorite places in Florida and just enjoying life.
