About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
My earliest memory of medicine was my volunteer experience at a hospital in high school. I was able to work with doctors who were smart, kind and patient. It was amazing to see patients improve with the right intervention. I knew from that experience that I want to be a doctor.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
Rheumatology is a specialty that involves multiple organ systems, and the diseases we treat are rare and difficult to diagnose. I like the comprehensive and challenging aspects of the field. It really makes me think outside of the box and pick up on details that others might have missed. I also found it rewarding that I could follow my patients long term, and I can significantly improve their quality of life.
How do you connect with your patients?
I always take my time and listen to my patients. I also emphasize that we always work as a team, and they have control of their medical condition and treatment plan.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I enjoy hiking and cooking with family and friends. I am always looking for new hobbies. I recently picked up water color painting.
What is your advice for your patients?
If you are not sure about something, please ask me. You are the best advocate for yourself.
