About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

My father was a bishop.  From him I learned that the greatest attributes we can aspire to in life are love, compassion, and empathy.  As a child, I was fascinated by science and biology and once in college I put it altogether and recognized  that as a doctor I could pursue my passion for science while staying true to the core values of my childhood. It was then that I knew i would become a doctor.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

Urology has the unique property of being a surgical specialty with a very strong outpatient focus. As  a result of this we are able to forge strong long term relationships with our patients which is tremendously rewarding. For many of our patients we are uniquely positioned to advise them on the more holistic aspects of their health and to help them make appropriate lifestyle choices to promote and preserve health and wellness which is also tremendously rewarding.

How do you connect with your patients?

Patient's can connect with me five days a week at the Newburgh location of Crystal Run Healthcare either in person or by phone. I can also be followed on Twitter, Vidscrip, LinkedIn, and will soon be launching a Facebook page, and website.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

Spending time with my family, working out, eating, cooking, and promoting vegan (plant-based) lifestyle, reading and writing poetry, community outreach

What is your advice for your patients?

Lifestyle choices are the most powerful medicine that we possess to prevent and reverse the illnesses that ail us. A healthy diet, exercise, and regular visits to the doctor for annual examination, screenings, and other health assessments may be all that stands between health and living with chronic and debilitating illness.
