About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

My earliest memory was when I saw my father seeing patients in our country Elbasan, Albania. His patients would walk into the office in despair, pessimistic, and often frowning. I would be outside the office watching their facial expressions completely change after seeing him, full of optimism. This was the first trigger of why I wanted to go into the medical field.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I am fascinated by Rheumatological conditions that are yet to be thoroughly studied and understood. It is one of the few sub-specialties that has flourished in recent years and has so much potential in the future. It is stimulating and keeps me on my toes and humble.

How do you connect with your patients?

It is easy to connect to patients especially in rheumatology because they are typically in a Iot of pain and you are able to help them through this. Showing them that someone cares and is listening, creates a special connection.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

I love to cook and spend time with family and friends. I enjoy trying new restaurants as well. My favorite thing to do when time permits are to travel and explore new places or visit old places that I have a connection with.

What is your advice for your patients?

I always provide reassurance that I will be working with them throughout their medical issues and if I cannot, I will make sure I get them connected to the right people. I always try to convey optimism as that will help them through their difficulties.
