About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

I don't have a specific memory of wanting to become a healthcare provider, but I've always been fascinated by anatomy and how the human body functions. When I was a child I had a huge book detailing the anatomy of various animal and human skeletons, and I remember being curious about how everything came together to form functioning living things. As I got older, I realized I could combine this inherent curiosity with my desire to connect with and care for people, leading me to channel those interests into a career in healthcare.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I love the complexity of vascular surgery and the constant opportunities for growth and learning that this field provides.

How do you connect with your patients?

I love when patients have interests that differ from my own because I enjoy learning about my patients as people, as well as learning for the sake of expanding my own breadth of knowledge. We can learn from each other, and I think it's important to keep that in mind.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

I love to spend time outdoors, especially hiking and working on my photography skills. I also enjoy travel, running, and improving my painting and drawing abilities.

What is your advice for your patients?

Lifestyle changes can be the basis for successful treatment. Quality of life is so important, and it’s essential that we work together and understand each other in order to maximize potential treatment benefits.
