About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

I read "The Making of a Surgeon" when I was ten years old. There was a chapter all about the nurses the author had worked with as an intern, which I found fascinating.  When I was a teen volunteer at a local hospital, I had the opportunity to see what nurses do everyday.  I knew then that I wanted to be a nurse.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I chose to become a family nurse practitioner so that I could work with patients across the lifespan.

How do you connect with your patients?

Everyone has a story.  I invite patients to share their story with me.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

Spending time with my family, listening to pod-casts and audio books, being physically active. I enjoy participating in obstacle and road races, as well as hiking.

What is your advice for your patients?

Be kind to yourself. Eat well, sleep well, and try to be as physically active as is comfortable for you. It's never too late to start!
