What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to help others. I also have always had a love of science and learning new things. The field of genetic counseling allows me to combine these two things and provide patients with digestible information while helping them navigate their healthcare journey.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

My specialty is prenatal genetics. I was drawn to working in the prenatal realm because I love being able to be a resource and support for couples as they navigate through pregnancy. Our information and technology surrounding genetics are constantly changing and it's exciting to be a part of it.

How do you connect with your patients?

I connect with my patients by creating a space where they can voice any concerns, ask any questions, and feel safe processing all of the information that they are getting. Genetics can sometimes get complicated and I want my patients to feel like they can ask questions and go home feeling confident when making their decisions.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

Cooking, Reading, Traveling, Being outdoors, and Spending time with family.

What is your advice for your patients?

Take some time with the information you received and be sure to advocate for yourself! If you're unsure about something, we are always happy to talk you through it.
