About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

Growing up most of my family members worked in healthcare, and I always had an interest in human biology. I decided to go into nursing to be able to care for patients in a meaningful way. After 15 years as an RN, I became a Nurse Practitioner because I wanted to have more of a role in diagnosis and treatment.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

With a background in critical care, I enjoy working in the hospital setting. It is rewarding to care for high-acuity patients and see the immediate improvement a patient can experience. I chose GI as it has a large variety of diagnoses, many of which I find really interesting.

How do you connect with your patients?

I understand the importance of listening to my patients, addressing their concerns, and spending time to ensure they understand their diagnosis and treatment plan.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

I enjoy relaxing with my family and helping my three kids be actively involved in different activities. I also enjoy reading and trying different restaurants with my husband.

What is your advice for your patients?

Be proactive with your health. Implement small changes and set realistic goals.
