About Me
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?
Medicine runs in my blood. My maternal grandfather fled Romania during the Nazi occupation, eventually becoming a cardiologist. My father, a child of Holocaust survivors, also became a physician. Growing up surrounded by medicine, I was raised to appreciate the blessing of a career where every day offers the opportunity to make a positive impact. I never wanted to do anything else.
What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?
I fell in love with cardiology early in my training. It’s a field that’s both visual and complex, allowing me to appreciate the beauty of the human heart. Cardiology has advanced so much that conditions once considered terminal can now be treated with relatively simple procedures. I find great joy in helping patients recover from serious illness and watching them return to full, healthy lives.
How do you connect with your patients?
Through education and humor. I enjoy breaking down complex cardiology concepts into terms that are easy to understand. Patients often tell me they finally “get it” after our conversations. I also believe in the power of a well-placed joke—laughter helps build trust and connection.
What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?
I’m a big fan of sports-football, basketball, baseball, and tennis. I also love comedy and music. But my greatest joy comes from spending time with my family and friends.
What is your advice for your patients?
The best time to improve your health is today. Prevention is far easier than treatment. Don’t wait until you feel unwell—by then, you’ll wish you had taken action sooner.
