Practice Receives Score as Part of Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Program

Crystal Run Healthcare was recently awarded a 100% Medicare Quality Score from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The score is determined based on four categories: Quality, Promoting Interoperability (PI), Improvement Activities, and Cost. CMS determined Crystal Run is taking all necessary steps to provide quality care, share information in a comprehensive manner, improve processes to enhance patient engagement and access to care, and maintain costs.

“Starting in 2017 Medicare started evaluating medical practices based on their quality of care, ability to use technology to care for patients, and engagement in improvement activities,” said Scott Hines, Chief Quality Officer and Medical Director at Crystal Run Healthcare. “I am proud to announce that Crystal Run achieved a perfect score in 2018 on all of these domains.  This is a testament to the amazing team of providers, nurses and staff that come to work every day to provide world class care for the populations we serve.”

CMS designed the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) to tie payments to quality and cost of efficient care, drive improvement in care processes and health outcomes, increase the use of healthcare information, and reduce the cost of care.
