What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

As a child, I would accompany my mother to work at our local health center. I loved speaking with the elder patients and was intrigued by the care they received. A month before migrating to the United States, my mother passed away from a heart attack. I felt helpless, not knowing what to do. This sparked my interest in becoming a Registered Nurse, and then a Nurse Practitioner.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I have always had a love for testing and laboratory work since my first career was a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. As an Allergy/Immunology NP, I can combine my love and my passion as a "tester" and a provider.

How do you connect with your patients?

I connect with my patients first with a heart-warming smile, then through meaningful conversation and a feeling of genuine concern for their health and well-being.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

My hobbies are going to church, swimming, watching movies, gardening, and catching up with my children's daily events.

What is your advice for your patients?

The advice I give most to my patients is "Take care of yourself because caring starts with you!"
