About Me

What made you want to become a health care provider or what is your earliest memory of wanting to be one?

I knew I wanted to be a physician since high school. The opportunity to directly help others, regardless of circumstance, along with my passion for science led me to choose a career in medicine. It is a privilege to be a part of a continually advancing field.

What do you love most about your specialty? / Why did you choose your specialty?

I love working with children and the opportunity to build long term relationships with families is very rewarding. I have always been intrigued by the complexity of the different organs that make up the gastrointestinal system. There is a wide range of gastrointestinal pathology. The ability to use endoscopic procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes is truly rewarding.

How do you connect with your patients?

I believe that communication is key in building a good doctor-patient relationship. I strive to be an attentive listener and encourage collaborative communication with both the child and the family to make the best decision for care.

What are your interests outside of the office (hobbies, activities)?

I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking new types of dishes, gardening, and traveling.

What is your advice for your patients?

I advise my patients and their families to be proactive and ask questions. I want them to feel empowered to make healthier choices in their lives.
