Saed S. Qaqish MD
When did you start working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
Summer of 2012 soon after graduating Family Medicine residency from Baton Rouge General, Louisiana.
What made you choose a career in this field?
I grew up in a close-knit community in Amman Jordan where my family doctor was the same person who discussed my vaccine requirements as a newborn with my mother, treated my fever as a toddler, sutured my cuts when I fell and talked some sense into me as a teenager. The same person who took care of my parents and grandparents. When it came time to applying for residency, I was not able to imagine myself as anything different than “my doctor”.
Establishing Long term relationships of growing individuals and families is a career goal which has been fulfilling and very rewarding.
What is your biggest accomplishment within your career thus far?
Word of mouth marketing!
The greatest motivation and biggest gratitude I feel is when a new patient is referred to me by their friends or family members.
What is your favorite part about working at Crystal Run Healthcare?
The available resources and ease of consulting with other physicians and specialties. I truly appreciate walking a copy of an EKG down the hallway to show a cardiologist, reviewing a patients laboratory results with an endocrinologist and not having to wait a few days or weeks for a surgeon or an orthopedist to see my patient for consult.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to spend as much time as possible with my wife and children whether painting, riding bikes or building castles.
