CRYSTAL RUN HEALTHCARE LAUNCHES NEW ONLINE PATIENT APPOINTMENT SERVICE IN ROCKLAND COUNTY AND MANHATTAN FOR INCREASED ACCESS AND CONVENIENCE

New Service Powered by ZocDoc Delivers an Accessible, Simple Healthcare Experience to Crystal Run Healthcare Patients

Middletown, N.Y. – March 5, 2015 – Today, Crystal Run introduces a new service that helps patients in Rockland County and Manhattan more seamlessly access participating Crystal Run Healthcare providers with online appointment scheduling. This partnership with web-based service ZocDoc is yet another way that Crystal Run Healthcare is improving patient access and providing a better healthcare experience for countless patients every day.

To use this free service, patients visit CrystalRunAppointments.com. Patients can see the participating providers’ schedules in real time, along with qualifications, verified patient reviews, photos, and additional tools for selecting providers who best fit their needs. Patients can then choose an open timeslot and schedule their own appointment with a few clicks. This service streamlines the traditional patient experience by eliminating time-consuming phone calls, helping patients book appointments with Crystal Run providers 24/7, and even sends email and text reminders about upcoming appointments to help reduce no-shows.

“With our continuous effort to improve patient access, we are happy to now offer the ease and convenience of online appointment booking through ZocDoc. This is yet another way that we are empowering our patients with a modern and yet simple tool that provides a better healthcare experience,” said Gregory Spencer, MD, FACP, Chief Medical & Chief Medical Information Officer at Crystal Run Healthcare.

According to a study by healthcare search and consulting firm Merritt Hawkins & Associates, patients in the New York metro area wait more than 16 days on average for medical appointments. However, the typical appointment booked through ZocDoc takes place in just 24 hours. This is made possible by ZocDoc’s online marketplace that shows providers’ real-time availability – including last-minute cancellations and no-shows – to patients who are seeking care.

At launch, the service facilitates online appointment-making with participating providers in Rockland County, Orange County, Ulster County and Manhattan across internal and family medicine, cardiology, podiatry, general surgery, endocrinology, and oncology and hematology.
