Readers of the River Reporter Name Crystal Run Healthcare ‘Best Cancer Center’

The River Reporter has recognized Crystal Run Healthcare as the ‘Best Cancer Center’ in their 23rd annual Readers’ Choice Awards, commonly referred to as “The Best” in Sullivan, Delaware, Orange, Wayne and Pike counties. More than 1,000 readers voted in 300 categories during 2018.

Crystal Run provides a full range of services for the testing and treatment of oncological and hematologic disorders with locations in Rock Hill, Middletown, Monroe, Newburgh, and West Nyack, NY. The Practice’s Sullivan County office located in Rock Hill offers patients a comfortable, private infusion suite on-site, along with access to diagnostic imaging and lab services, all under one roof. Crystal Run’s multi-disciplinary approach to cancer care includes a team of top-rated oncologists/hematologists, certified oncology nurses, oncology surgeons, and nutritionists all working to provide each patient with leading-edge treatment and the highest quality care possible.

Crystal Run Healthcare is a Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) certified practice recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for achieving the highest standards of excellence in oncology care. As one of the first 16 community cancer care facilities in the Country to receive QOPI® Certification, , the practice continues to demonstrate its commitment  to making a difference in the lives of oncology patients. Each facility meets 24 measures for cancer care with 17 specific chemotherapy safety standards to maintain QOPI® certification.

In 2016, Crystal Run Healthcare was one of 192 practices across the country selected to participate in The Oncology Care Model (OCM) - an alternative payment model created by The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) whose goal is to provide higher quality, more highly coordinated oncology care at the same or lower cost to Medicare. Crystal Run’s OCM Program was implemented to facilitate access to care and patient education in an overall effort to improve the patient experience. In 2018, the Practice was selected to present their quality data at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Quality Care Symposium.
