Welcome to Family Medicine at Crystal Run. Our primary care doctors consist of pediatricians (who treat children under 18), Internal Medicine doctors (who treat adults aged 18 and up), and Family Medicine doctors (who see patients of all ages).
A primary care physician, or PCP, is a general doctor who provides both the first contact for a patient with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care of varied medical conditions, not limited by cause, organ system, or diagnosis. In other words, primary care doctors take care of the physical, mental, and emotional health of both their patients and their patients' families, and are trained to care for you through all the stages of your life.
Family physicians are trained to care for all members of the family through every stage of life, from infancy to advanced age.
Family physicians advocate for their patients and focus on preventive medicine. By monitoring their patients’ health closely year after year, family doctors are often able to help prevent the onset of diseases that have a genetic component, such as high cholesterol, obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Many of our patients find it comforting to see a family doctor who knows their personal and family history and tracks their health over time.
After completing medical school (four years), family physicians complete a three-year residency, during which they typically work mostly in an outpatient setting providing preventive, acute, and chronic care for children and adults. Family practice trainees also undergo a minimum of six months of training in a hospital setting, and they train in a variety of specialties, from gynecology to geriatric care to behavioral health.
The board-certified primary care doctors at Crystal Run provide highly coordinated care in a patient-centered environment. Our physicians will work closely with you to understand your health history and goals and answer all of your questions.
Crystal Run Healthcare has been designated a Level-3 Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), a distinguished designation that speaks to the quality care we provide our patients across our healthcare practice.
We look forward to providing you with exceptional care and becoming your trusted family medicine provider.
